Rockford Register Star

New Press Addition

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS

We provided the design services for a five-story addition containing a new, 400-ton printing press that stands 56’ tall and 100’ long. The design incorporates the art-deco style of the existing building. The visual highlights are the 20’ x 45’ windows that show off the $15.5M, state of the art press. The windows are especially impressive at night when the hall lights are on while the press is running. AIA/NI Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture.

Danfoss Drives

New Manufacturing & Engineering Facility

LOVES PARK, ILLINOIS

We provided master planning, complete A/E and interior design services and for this new 120,000 SF office, testing and assembly facility. We also provided those same services for the design of Danfoss’ 129,000 SF addition and renovation project. The addition created new test cells, more office space and a training/conferencing center. The building was designed to meet LEED Silver criteria. 2010 AIA/NI Honor Award.

Hamilton Sundstrand

Plant 1 Addition & Integrated Systems Lab

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS

We have provided A/E services on over 650 projects that have modified the Rockford site. This recent Plant 1 project included demolition of 300,000 SF and a 150,000 SF addition/renovation. We also recently converted an 8,000 SF, high bay manufacturing space into a two-level 16,000 SF, state of the art, Integrated Systems Lab. The ISL is the only one of its kind in the U.S., and simulates how various operating systems will perform on an airship while in flight.

Columbia Pipe

New Office & Warehouse Facility

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS

As part of a design/build team, we provided complete architectural, structural, MEP and fire protection engineering design services for this 112,000 SF office and warehouse facility for 85 employees. The company is a full-line supplier of pipe, valves, fittings, plumbing fixtures, hydronics, HVAC equipment and pumps.

Kraft Cadbury Adams USA

Ongoing Additions, Renovations & Planning

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS

Cadbury is the U.S. confectionery business unit of Cadbury Schweppes plc, the world’s top confectionery company. Our projects have included more than 600 assignments within the 478,000 SF Rockford facility over the past 30 years. Our work has included A/E services for planning and conceptual drawings, including site design, plant footprint and equipment layouts. We’ve also completed equipment layouts for plants in Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japan and Puerto Rico.

Woodward

Plant Reorganization & New Test Facility

LOVES PARK, ILLINOIS

Since 1980, we have designed over 250 projects for Woodward. Most recently, we assisted in planning for consolidation and expansion of nearly 120,000 SF of engineering and production space. We relocated the production and testing areas to an expanded manufacturing floor and designed a new, 48,000 SF, state-of-the-art Systems Test Facility, used for testing aircraft fuels in simulated flight conditions.

Thermo Fisher Scientific

Office & Laboratory Addition

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS

We created the design build documents for a new laboratory and office facility for this leading manufacturer of laboratory support technologies. Intended to provide a new public face and relieve overcrowding, the new building also consolidates and provides new office space for functions such as a technical library, mail room and cafeteria. The project was fast-tracked and completed in an accelerated time frame.

Full Compass Systems

New Office, Warehouse and Studios

MADISON, WISCONSIN

Full Compass is a national leader in professional audio, video, A/V, and lighting sales. We provided full A/E design services for this new 140,000 SF facility with an 80,000 SF warehouse. The project includes two large-scale recording studios with a convertible performance space; a two-story glass entryway adjacent to an exhibit area; and an executive suite with a private balcony.

LaMonica Beverage

New Distribution Center & Office Building

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS

We provided complete A/E design services for this 247,000 SF warehouse, office and distribution facility. The project included bulk freezer cooler facilities; a retail store; employee support areas; construction of pre-cast concrete, steel, and glass; a storage mezzanine; corporate offices; a truck wash bay; a client lounge; decorative patio; interior truck loading bay; onsite truck staging/maneuvering; site landscaping/irrigation system; and parking.

Macy’s Inc.

New Distribution Center

MINOOKA, ILLINOIS

We provided building code analysis, architectural construction drawings and construction administration for this 880,000 SF warehouse building on a 49-acre site. The project included 44,572 SF of offices, washrooms, cafeteria, fencing, ventilated spray booth and a 4,750 SF candy cooler. The warehouse has three drive-in doors and 84 docks. The building was constructed using precast concrete bearing walls on the perimeter and structural steel for the interior bays.
